The Natural Approach Empty The Natural Approach

The natural method was developed by Tracy Terrell and Krashen, this theory had a great influence for teaching a second language is very important to know that this theory was carried out taking Krashen's theory of some features of the hypothesis. For in his theory of second language acquisition of spoken input, the monitor and the natural method, all these are related but we now see that there is a difference in this theory of the natural method.
The difference is between acquisition and learning, although they are related and both have the same assumptions the theory is designed to help beginners and intermediate techniques or activities used to provide information understandable and more interested students and also they make the process easier.

The Natural Approach Empty natural method

Post  pat0o0tabares Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:54 am

when i read about this theory, i think in many things for example we have many mistakes when we teach a Foreigner languages.
in the natural approach tell to us that the way for teach a foreigner languages is like his name tell to us naturally.
if we want to teach a L2 we need to use pictures, movies, songs etc. because in this way the student can learn faster and in a funy way.
if the students can't understand the vocabulary the teacher never to translate, he can explain with actions or pictures.

in this method we nerver used a book, or use grammar structures, because the way for learnd is natural and we need based in the comunication, aun with the time we will improving.

I agree with anayely i think that natural approach has to be focus on all of this aspects but the most important is the acquisition and learning. The natural approach as Krashen said "Language acquisition does not require
extensive use of conscious grammatical rules, and does not require tedious drill" (THE NATURAL APPROACH, Krashen,Terrell). The aquisition is the same as we learn when we were childs and learn is through a teacher. It has not to be only grammar, it has to be interactive with the language because it we learned to speak in the same way although we need the books only for know the grammar and practice some exercises.
